Looking to book the perfect getaway in Punta Cana? In the beginning of May, Matt and I traveled to the Dominican Republic to Punta Cana and we had the most incredible time! Keep reading for how to book, where to stay, what to do and how to pack for your paradise vacation.

How to Book: Expedia! I love Expedia because you can book package deals that include your hotel, flight, transportation and more. We booked our 4 night all inclusive resort, including our flight and airport transportation, for $1,700 total (only $850 per person, what a deal!) When we arrived at the Punta Cana airport, we were taken to the van that then drove us to the resort. Since we chose shared transportation instead of private, it did take a little longer to get to the hotel, but if you're booking on a budget it's definitely worth it to choose the shared transfer.

Where to Stay: Bavaro Princess All Suites Resort - All Inclusive. We loved this resort because it is HUGE and there's a ton to do on the property. The purpose of our vacation was relaxation, so it was the best destination for us. In each room there is a king bed, private spa tub, large bathroom and a balcony. Equipped with 3 pools, 9 bars and 8 restaurants, you won't get bored! All of our food and drinks were included, along with snacks at the beach bar. As it is one of the cheaper all-inclusive resorts, don't expect 5 star food options, however everything was still delicious.

What to Do: Most of our days were spent lounging by the pool and tanning/relaxing. However, we did take one day to do an all-day excursion called Juanillo Beach VIP. It was around $170 per person and included all you can drink along with a 3 course meal at a private beach. The day started off with a bus ride to the boat where we sailed to snorkel, spend time on a sand bar, and then go to the beach where we got to eat/drink and relax. After that, we headed on open safari vans to the Freshwater Blue Lagoon where we could jump into the refreshing water and spend some time there before catching a bus back to our resort.

How to Pack: Not going to lie, I always overpack on vacations. I brought multiple swimsuits, dresses for dinner and casual outfits for during the day. I think the most important thing is to bring a variety of outfits; some nice enough for dinner and others casual enough for a fun excursion. There were restaurants at the resort that did have dress codes, mostly focused around guys, so you'll want to make sure to check those out and pack accordingly.
