My Top 5 NYC Restaurants of December

January 06, 2018

One of my new year’s resolutions is to experience more of my city than ever before. Living in NYC, I’ve always taken it for granted and never fully took advantage of everything NYC has to offer. I ate at many incredible restaurants in December, and I wanted to share those with you! Check them out below to find out the best spots to get the best food in NYC.

(Sneak peak! ^)

Wow. If you love Gnocchi, or even if you’ve never tried it before, you have to go to Gnoccheria. My boyfriend and I went here for dinner and couldn’t decide which of the many types of Gnocchi we wanted, so we went with the sampler. It came with three different types of Gnocchi: Pesto Genovese, Quattro Fromaggi and Sorrentina. Our favorites were the Quattro Fromaggi (because cheese.. duh), and the Sorrentina, which had tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella and basil. I would definitely recommend a reservation, as we went there on a week night and it was still packed because it’s a pretty small restaurant.

Price: $15-$30
Reservations: Recommended

2.     Pardon My French

This is my absolute favorite brunch place in NYC (and probably the world). You can get a bottomless brunch with mimosas or bloody Mary’s on a weekend for $30, including your food. I’ve heard that people’s biggest complaint about bottomless brunches in NYC is that they rarely refill your glass, but this is not a problem here. The pitchers they bring to your table are ever-flowing and I never had an empty glass! The food here is also incredible. It’s a modern approach to classic French fare. I always get the croque madame and have never been disappointed.

Price: $30
Reservations: Recommended

3.     Gino’s Bay Ridge

This is definitely not a new place for me, as I go here all the time, but I had to include it! Gino’s is your classic Italian restaurant where the pasta is cooked perfectly and you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. I got the baked ziti and my boyfriend got the rigatoni with grilled chicken and peas in vodka sauce and we both highly recommend them!

Price: $10-$30
Reservations: Recommended

4.     Sadelle’s

Sadelle’s is a bakery and restaurant located in Soho and perfect for brunch. I went here with my friend who said it was her dad’s favorite brunch place. Sadelle’s is also known for their famous bagel (yum!). This is definitely a pricier place (I paid $20 for a bacon, egg and cheese bagel... ouch), however it was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere is worth checking it out!

Price: It really depends on what you get; Yelp says the price range is from $31-$60
Reservations: Recommended

My mom and I went here after seeing the Louis Vuitton exhibit, “Volez, Voguez, Voyagez” (which, side note, was absolutely incredible!). We liked the food here, but it was a little hectic and if you’re looking for a place with a quiet atmosphere, this definitely isn’t the restaurant for you. It’s in the middle of Eataly, which is pretty cool because all around you is a store with naturally sourced ingredients and awesome cookbooks. Definitely worth going to for lunch and picking up some groceries on the way out.

Price: Lunch - $15-$30
Reservations: Not Required

Let me know if you'll be stopping by one of these spots soon! I know I'll definitely be going back asap!
