Date Night: Restaurant Hopping Through NYC

July 12, 2017

My boyfriend, Matt, and I always have a never-ending list of restaurants we want to visit. Even if we ate out 5 days a week, we still wouldn't be able to go to all the incredible and unique restaurants in NYC. As a solution, we decided to go restaurant hopping. We went to one restaurant for appetizers, one for our main course and another for desert. This way we were able to knock out three great restaurants on our list in one night!

For my outfit, I decided to go with fun summer look. I paired a floral dress with simple black heels and a black purse. What I like about this dress is it is more of a sun dress, however it's black so it's also perfect for going to dinner. From night to day, this dress will match whatever you have planned.

I decided to dress up my outfit with some of my nicer jewelry from Tiffany's, Michael Kors and Pandora. However, the ring on my left hand (which is one of my favorites) was actually bought at The Dutchess County Fair upstate NY for under $15! There's this incredible man who makes hand-crafted sterling silver jewelry and every August my mother and I buy a ton of Jewelry from him.

Our first stop was Freeman's for appetizers. Freeman's is this adorable restaurant at the end of Freeman's Alley in the Lower East Side. We got the Hot Artichoke Dip and the Lamb & Pork Merguez Meatballs. The dip was absolutely delicious but I wasn't as much of a fan of the meatballs although Matt loved them.

Freemans is the blue door at the end

After leaving Freeman's we went to The Meatball Shop, also on the Lower East Side. What's cool about The Meatball Shop is that you are given a menu and a black marker and you get to check off what type of meatballs/sauce/add-ons you want. Definitely a cool idea and it was delicious. Unfortunately, as soon as we left The Meatball Shop it started to downpour so I had to resort to this goofy iPhone pic!

Our final destination was the famous Black Tap! Known in NYC for huge shakes (and long lines), we had to give it a try. Thankfully for us, the rain worked in our favor this time and we only had to wait 20 minutes to get a seat at the counter. I ordered The Cake Shake and Matt ordered the Oreo Supreme. However, we quickly regretted not sharing one as soon as we saw them come out. Mine had a whole piece of cake on top and his had a cookie sandwich.

Shout out to the hostess with that dope photobomb

All in all, I definitely recommend restaurant hopping if you have a ton of places on your list. Huge thank you to Matt for taking all of these photos (and putting up with me while I asked him for more).
